Terms of Service
Last updated: October 9, 2026
The rules for using MicPeek: what you can do with it, what we promise, and what we don’t.
The short version
- MicPeek reviews CS2 matches after they end. Use it to improve your own comms and your team’s.
- Upload only demos you’re allowed to use, and respect the players whose voices are in them.
- Transcripts, translations and coaching are automatic and can be wrong.
- MicPeek is a free beta, provided as is. It isn’t affiliated with FACEIT or Valve.
1. This agreement
These Terms are an agreement between you and the operator of MicPeek (“MicPeek”, “we”, “us”). They cover micpeek.com, the MicPeek desktop app and the MicPeek browser extension (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the Service.
2. Who can use MicPeek
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you’re under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
- If your country sets a higher age to agree to the processing of personal data (up to 16 in some EU countries), you must be that age or have a parent’s consent.
- You can’t use MicPeek if the law where you live forbids it.
3. Your account
You sign in with your FACEIT account. Keep it secure. You’re responsible for what happens under your sign-in. We may suspend accounts that break these Terms.
4. Demos and reports
- Upload only demos you’re allowed to use: matches you played, your team’s practice, or demos whose owner gave you permission.
- You keep your rights in what you upload. You give us a limited license to store, process, transcribe, translate and display it, only to run the Service for you and the other players of that match, and only for as long as we keep the report.
- Reports are deleted after the period described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Respect the other players
Demos contain the voices of teammates and opponents. When you use MicPeek, you agree:
- to use reports to review and improve play;
- not to use them to harass, threaten, mock, dox or expose anyone;
- not to publish other players’ voice clips or transcripts without their permission;
- not to try to find out who players are outside the game or link their voices to real-world identities.
Any player can remove their voice from MicPeek at any time with “Remove my voice”.
6. What you can’t do
- Break the law or anyone’s rights.
- Use MicPeek during a live match to gain an advantage, or in any way that breaks FACEIT’s or Valve’s rules. MicPeek reviews matches after they end.
- Copy, scrape or harvest the Service or its data with bots or scripts, or overload it.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or get around security or usage limits, except where the law allows it.
- Resell, rent or offer the Service to others, or use its content to build a competing service.
- Upload malware or files that aren’t CS2 demos.
- Pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your connection to MicPeek.
7. FACEIT, Valve and other services
MicPeek is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by FACEIT or Valve. FACEIT, Counter-Strike and CS2 are trademarks of their owners, and the map radar pictures in the 2D replay are Valve’s. Your use of FACEIT and Steam stays under their own terms. Parts of MicPeek depend on their data and APIs, which can change or end at any time; when that happens, features may change or stop.
8. Automatic results
Transcripts, translations, callout checks and scores are produced automatically. They can be wrong: words get misheard, translations miss slang, calls get missed. Treat them as training feedback, not as facts about anyone, and listen to the original audio before relying on a result.
9. Our software and brand
The Service, its software, design and text, and the MicPeek name and logo belong to us and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the website, the app and the extension for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute or make derivative works of them, or use our name and logo, without our written permission.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely and without any obligation to you.
10. Beta, changes and pricing
MicPeek is in beta. Features may change, pause or stop. The Service is free for now. If we add paid plans, we’ll show the price and terms before you pay, and we won’t charge you without your clear agreement.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using MicPeek at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we shut the Service down. The sections on ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity and disputes keep applying after that.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON’T PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ITS RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE.
13. Limits of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, MICPEEK WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US$50.
Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
14. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and hold MicPeek harmless from claims and costs that come from what you upload, how you use reports, or your breaking these Terms or the law.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and both you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may bring a claim in small claims court instead. If you’re a consumer in the EU, the UK or another country with mandatory consumer protections, you keep those protections and may bring claims in your local courts.
16. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on MicPeek infringes your copyright, email support@micpeek.com with: your contact details; the work you believe was copied; where it appears on MicPeek; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you are the owner or allowed to act for them. We will respond promptly.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date and, for significant changes, show a notice on the site before they take effect. If you keep using MicPeek after that, you accept the new Terms.
18. Everything else
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up. You can’t transfer these Terms to someone else; we may transfer them if MicPeek is reorganized, sold or merged.
